Mr. Peters' classes just finished a project in which each group picked out wallpaper and gave a presentation to convince him to hire them to wallpaper my classroom. Students learned to work with tape measures, find square footage of the classroom, and determine material costs and labor for the project. Groups of students even researched patterns and colors that statistically help students' academic improvement.
Russellville School District will be dismissing 90 minutes early on Monday, February 19, 2018, for Parent/Teacher Conferences at Russellville High School and Russellville Junior High School. Last week, RHS and RJHS held Student Success/College and Career Readiness Conferences instead of Parent/Teacher Conferences. This early dismissal will allow teachers to prepare for these conferences.
Alyssa Berry and Kaitlyn McCorkle traveled to the state capital building in Little Rock, Arkansas for the Leadership Conference. During the conference, Alyssa Berry received the Arkansas Alternative Learning Diamond Award for top achieving Alternative Learning students. Only 10 students throughout the state, K-12, received this award. During their travels, they were able to meet the governor, travel to the treasury, and meet various people in government. We are proud of both of these young women and all their accomplishments.
